Hire and retain underrepresented talent across all levels

We're setting clear and ambitious goals to increase the representation of employees who identify as Black, Latinx, women, and non-binary across all levels at Benchling. We are bringing a DEI lens to our hiring process by launching in-depth hiring training, developing a sourcing strategy to attract underrepresented talent, and implementing data-driven interview practices to promote consistency and equity.

The well-being of Benchlings is our first priority. Benchling provides therapy through Modern Health for both employees and their dependents. We also offer company-wide wellness days and classes throughout the year and continue to build community through our Employee Resource Groups.
 

Establish learning programs and resources to assist leadership in scaling roles and creating an inclusive environment

At Benchling we empower our employees with learning opportunities and resources to foster their growth and promote inclusion. We are also expanding our manager training program which will include inclusive leadership training to promote equitable outcomes throughout the employee lifecycle. Additionally, we’re committed to equitable compensation practices, which are vetted twice a year in a pay equity analysis.
 

Give, advocate, as well as provide resources to address social issues that impact underserved communities

We believe we have a responsibility to impact the communities around us and work with causes our employees care about. Our priority is to build long-term partnerships with organizations to make a meaningful impact and continue our established support for organizations including Black Girls Code, Equal Justice Initiative, The LGBT Asylum Project, Girls Write Now, Care India, All Hands, Hearts, and Project Hope.
