About Labviva and what they do
So Labviva is a customer specific marketplace for Life Science and pharmaceutical companies. We leverage AI technologies to bring together content from different scientific sources to accelerate the product discovery process. Our goal is to use technology in the pharma space to reduce inefficiencies and procuring products from various suppliers and to help drive the pace of discovery in that industry.
Details and size of their engineering team
At Labviva we have an engineering team is just about north of 20 people, we expect to be about 40 people in engineering by this time next year. Our team is sort of organized by different products and disciplines. We have a team focused on our marketplace who works heavily in front end and E commerce technologies. We have a team on our back end who does a lot of data preparation along with kind of usher in our AI technologies for data cleanup and paper harvesting. We also have a team specifically oriented around major customer implementations This team works with ERP systems and some of the most complex customers on the planet to help them be successful.
Cool projects engineers get to work on
Our customers deal with millions of products from 1000s of suppliers and they need information like rich scientific papers that say where the product was cited with accuracy, they need to understand technical specifications, will use natural language processing to pull in millions of papers and provide the context that researchers need to select the right products that in itself is a very challenging technological activity. Beyond this, we have a complex buying scenarios with inventory management solutions, Cameo informatics, bioinformatics solutions that we also sell. And those are all integrated into a core platform. So overall, our technology touches a lot of different disciplines and a lot of different feature sets. And it's a very interesting and engaging place to work.
Details on their tech stack
So we're transitioning our tech stack from material we implemented about six years ago. It's heavily now focused on postgrads No, Jas next and s JS react based front ends. A heavy implementation of Kafka also brings everything together in a seamlessness.
Labviva's interview process
Sure, we're not trying to trick anyone with our process, but it is involved. Our goal is to preserve the culture we built as a team, we have a heavy focus on learning and collaborative work. And we want to encourage that everyone who comes in is ready for that kind of engagement. So we have some peer interviews, we do have a small tech assessment that we do with our you know, actual team and kind of mirrors what you'd be doing pairing up with different developers to execute scope, as well as a few I would say more traditional interviews with leadership to understand the general cultural aspects.
Why you should be excited to join their team
The life science industry continues to expand. Life Science consumable span is growing at 8.6% CAGR every year. That's a huge pace of growth that we see in pharmaceutical and in life sciences. And they need tools to keep the pace of innovation moving forward. Levine is uniquely positioned to assist with that. We started off working with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world right here in Cambridge, Massachusetts. And now we're working with companies all over the globe and rapidly expanding. So it's a wonderful time to get involved, to help out an industry that's so important to human success, as well as join a team that's positioned to support that success.
