As a Staff Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying data science and ML models to revolutionize our business and transform customer's experience of Food For Work. You will partner with cross-functional teams to develop personalized customer models, play a key role in solving complex problems and set the direction for data science initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for an individual who can deliver on open-ended questions and thrives on tackling challenging data science problems through hands-on coding to develop impactful solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Driving development of models that are feeding data-driven intelligence in our products.
- Accountable for facilitating the transition of model development to our MLEs and establishing success criteria for the models in production.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Use advanced statistical techniques such as Bayesian and causal inference to analyze large datasets, extract meaningful insights, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Modeling and Optimization: Develop, apply, and optimize models using cutting-edge techniques in data science and optimization to address complex business challenges
- A/B Testing: Design, implement, and execute A/B tests to evaluate the impact of different product changes and features on user engagement, retention, and conversion rates.
- Predictive Modeling: Develop predictive models to forecast user behavior, identify trends, and anticipate customer needs, contributing to data-driven decision-making in product development.
- Machine Learning Model Integration: Partner with our ML team to integrate customer-centric data science models and algorithms into the customer experience in the most valuable and effective manner, including providing personalized experiences, recommendations, and features for users.
- Experimentation and Analytic Innovation: Explore new data sources, techniques, and technologies to enhance the data science capabilities and contribute to innovation within the product development process.
- Collaborate & Lead: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, engineers, product managers, and the business to understand their needs and deliver data-science and machine-learning powered solutions.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and relevant industry trends, applying these insights to your work to move the company forward.
What You Have:
- Background in B2B/B2C marketplace or e-commerce environments.
- 7+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, performing statistical modeling and quantitative and technical analysis.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and experience with big data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop, Spark) and Interactive Computing Environments (e.g. DeepNote, Jupyter Notebooks, Google Colab).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and MLOps tools and practices for deploying and managing machine learning models.
- Proven track record of deploying and maintaining data science & machine learning algorithms that are widely used and adopted in business applications.
- Proven track record of leading by example through collaboration, guidance, and mentoring of other data scientists & or analysts in employing methodologies and vetting applications for performance, accuracy and quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
The national cash compensation range for this role is $201,000 - $257,000 per year.
