The details on 1upHealth
1upHealth where modern healthcare data platform. We use API technology to support interoperability in the healthcare space. So that's a mouthful. But basically what it means is through our technology, we are enabling providers, insurers, and patients to more seamlessly share information and data to provide better outcomes at the end of the day for patients.
What they look for in a candidate
When we're looking for an ideal candidate at 1upHealth, we certainly focus in on our core values which are human, bold, visionary, and resolute human meaning that we want our employees to bring their whole selves to work, because really, that's what makes us unique. And that's what makes us creative and successful. Bold because we're trying to tackle some of Healthcare's most large and complex challenges on the back end. So we want candidates who are not afraid of kind of tackling those larger problems. Visionary being we want people who can think outside of the box again, transforming the future of healthcare is no small task. So really, no idea is too big, no ideas too challenging. In with that brings us to Resolute which is like, no matter how big this challenge, we are climbing this mountain of outdated health care standards, and protocol in despite overhauling that we are still in here like on the mission of climbing this sometimes steeper mountain than we might have thought. Also when looking for candidates, we typically focus in on some degree of health care experience. And if not coming in with that healthcare experience, someone who is at least passionate about improving the healthcare ecosystem.
1upHealth's interview process
Yeah, we like to keep the general interview process fairly short and sweet. At 1upHealth we start with a interview with a member of our recruitment team, so myself or one of the other recruiters typically a 30 minute phone call. In regards to next stages, after that, it would be a 30 to 45 minute video call with the hiring manager or your future manager. And then if you're moving on for a technical role, we typically slot in a technical assessment there. And if not, you go straight to the final team interview. So the final team interview is typically focus that would be directly on your team, as well as other stakeholders from other cross functional departments like product engineering, marketing, depending on the role you're interviewing for.
How to stand out
The tips I usually give to candidates to stand out during the interview process is to be authentic and be yourself. I mentioned human is one of our core values, we really are looking for people to bring their whole unique selves to work. Also, do your research, do a little bit of reading on 1upHealth and who we are and the person that's interviewing you so that you can show that you're engaged and excited in the company, but also the person that you'll be meeting with. And this is a big one that doesn't seem super obvious, but keep your answers concise. Two to three minutes practice beforehand. We all get excited and nervous in these processes. And we would hate for the manager or the interviewer to leave the interview process and say, Gosh, I wish I could have asked those 10 more questions, but we ran out of time. And lastly, never leave without having questions prepared for your interviewer. Almost always at the end of an interview, the interviewer will say do you have any questions for me? And you want to show that you've been thinking about this you're engaged and excited?
Why they should be on your radar
Yeah, 1upHealth should be on a job seekers radar for a few reasons. One, obviously being our mission of transforming the future of healthcare. Anyone who's interacted with the healthcare ecosystem, in any capacity understands the frustrations and challenges that come along with not being able to have access to the information or data you need to get proper care. And then secondly, I always like to highlight our culture. We have an amazing culture, a great leadership team. We like to have fun. We have our headquarters in Boston. However, for our remote folks, we have a holiday party once a year and our summer get-together called our summer Smash. So last year, we went to Arizona the year before New Hampshire. So we like to keep it light and have fun and also of course, you know put in the time and work to improve healthcare outcomes.
