About Lakeside and what they do
So Lakeside is a leading digital employee experience platform. We have over 500 customers were on over 5 million endpoints in 42 different countries. Our customers represent the largest enterprise think brand name customers in the world. So the largest financial institutions, the largest health care organizations, the biggest manufacturers in the world. We are backed by insight ventures insight Ventures is one of the largest technology private equity firms in the world with just over $95 billion in assets under management. So we're at the heart of Lakeside is we're a data company. If you think of all of our primary use cases that focuses around data, we have a patented intelligent platform that provides real time visibility across some of the largest IT environments in the world. The definition of Dex is it the quantification. So it is all about the data, the quantification understanding that data and optimization of how technology impacts users and the business itself. So if you think about primary use cases for a platform like Lakeside think about proactive it, instead of IT environments, spending time on repair it environments can proactively find issues in the environment and fix them before they become a problem. Think about root cause analysis and remediation, dramatic reductions in ticket counts and costs and time to resolution. Think about optimization of the environment. So what I mean by that is hardware reclamation, which quite frankly, some of our customers justify the ROI for Lakeside simply on hardware, Reclamation, think hardware reclamation think about software licensing, optimization, and then more and more. And we've seen this particularly in Europe in the in the last 12 to 18 months is sustainability. And some of our machine learning capabilities inside of the platform that help IT organizations optimize power usage in their environments, sustainability has become a more and more important topic.
Details on their sales team
So we have a global sales organization. We're supported by a global partner team. We have offices in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Boston, Massachusetts and London, England. We're supported by some of the largest global systems integrators in the world. We currently have 20 enterprise sellers, so at Lakeside, enterprise size organizations or organizations with more than 20,000 employees. We have six commercial sellers at Lakeside commercial sellers are the market is between five and 10,000. Employees, we have a two to one solution architects structure, we have eight partner managers, we have an operations manager and we have a full time trainer. In terms of structure. There is a head of North American sales that has an east west and the commercial team. There is a team in EMEA that is based out of London with a leader, and then naturally we have somebody who runs our channel organization and our solution architect team.
What their typical sales process looks like
So always, it's always such a fun question. So So really think about two different motions, although they're relatively similar. So I think new logo, new logo motion is six to eight months long. If you look at q1 and you look at you know, our top 10 opportunities closed on a quarter to date basis, our average selling price is $320,000. So truly selling enterprise size opportunities into enterprise size organizations. We have a very simple five step sales process. So it goes from as you would imagine it from your qualification and discovery through demo go no go negotiate and closed one. On the expansion side. Many times expansion opportunities are larger than new opportunities. And that's because we get into these large enterprise opportunities and this land and expand they may deploy five or 10,000 endpoints in their environment with the intention of of of testing the platform over some period of time, call it three 612 months, and then we go in to do an expansion to the entire estate and so many times expansion opportunities can be even larger than the initial sale.
What to expect during the interview process
So I think it's a good question, I think it's important to understand that this is a winning team. So we talked to lots of candidates in the market for the process is, as you would expect, you start with talent acquisition, we'll do no more than three interviews, post talent acquisition, I want to streamline that process, as best we can. And then the final conversation is with me.
Why now is the ideal time to join
You know, its opportunities like this don't come along very often, if you're lucky in your career, you're able to find one, or maybe two of these opportunities, kind of game changing career opportunities. You know, I talk to a lot of my peers, I talk to a lot of candidates. And it's, it seems relatively systemic these days that so many people get into organizations only to find out that, well, the technology doesn't necessarily work, the way that they were told it was or work at all by frankly, you know, this is, this is a technology that's been deployed, you know, in some environments for over 15 years. It's been tested at scale in, you know, with hundreds of 1000s of endpoints in a single environment, so that the technology works. And quite frankly, it's our patented technology. So it's unique, so it works. And it's unique. Post COVID from a market opportunity, if you think about digital employee experience, has become topical Dex is the quantification understanding and optimization of how technology how users and businesses interact with the technology in their environment. With more and more companies accepting remote workers, that becomes incredibly important. So now you have a technology that works. It's deployed, it's been deployed at scale. It's a market that's very fast growing, we're a leader if not the leader in the marketplace. You know, we have an investor with deep pockets that believes strongly that Lakeside Software, again, will become a category killer. So it is, it is in my opinion, it is an opportunity, a career opportunity of a lifetime. And we're excited so it's a fun company to be at
