The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
USDS Infrastructure is seeking a dynamic leader to manage the Pricing Tools team. The ideal candidate will excel as both a people manager and a stakeholder manager, with the technical expertise to drive complex projects forward and an in-depth understanding of insurance pricing. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of analysts charged with building tools to deliver pricing products in USRM. The primary objective will be to architect, construct and maintain tools and pipelines that significantly enhance the ease and speed of bringing our pricing programs to market.

The US Retail Markets Data Science team brings together a diverse range of talent to predict future risk and what our customers will need to recover. Our data engineers write code that turns trillions of bits of information into structured datadata that our hundred-plus Data Scientists analyze with cutting-edge modeling techniques to unlock insights. From there, our tools and deployment teams ensure this data can be practically applied to business problems across US Retail Markets. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of analysts, demonstrating exceptional people management skills, to design and implement tools and pipelines that improve the ease of bringing our pricing programs to market.
- Shape the direction of the Pricing Tools team and foster a cohesive team culture of ownership, growth, and advancement.
- Coach and develop a team of analysts to guide them to achieve their full potential, enhancing their skills in technical, analytical, and strategic aspects of pricing tool development.
- Develop strategies and roadmaps for tooling to drive lower cycle times for our pricing programs.
- Collaborate heavily within USDS on the design and integration of tooling and processes, with a focus on those that connect with Earnix.
- Oversee the building and maintenance of Python packages, processes, and applications utilized across the organization.
- Provide technical guidance for analysts.
- Collaborate with teams outside of USDS, including Product Delivery and USRM IT for tools that interact outside USDS but still lie along the critical path for bringing pricing programs to market.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead and drive projects to completion through others, including demonstrated experience in effectively managing and developing talent.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong relationships across various levels of the organization.
- Extensive knowledge of pricing product development, deployment, and maintenance, enabling the identification of opportunities for improvement.
- Proficient in Python, git/GitHub, CI/CD, and best development practices.
- Must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision-making, communication, and project management skills.
- Adept at building relationships and actively engaging with individuals at all levels of the organization to stay informed on ongoing projects, challenges, and pain points.
- Bachelors degree in a quantitative field with 10+ years of related experience within insurance, actuarial, data science, or technology preferred, or a Master's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, verbally, visually, and in writing, to stakeholders, including SBU/Corp Dept leadership and enterprise-wide.
