Brief Overview:
The Senior Platform Sales Engineer is a technical SME role in R&D that enables our growth organization to achieve retention and new sales targets. This individual is in sync with Amwells vision & strategy, maintains expertise in AmWells current platform and integration capabilities, thrives in navigating ambiguous conversations and can quickly assimilate information to arrive at the best mix of Amwell solutions for a given opportunity. They excel at demonstrating the potential of our products. Using their healthcare industry expertise and details about a given prospect, they will partner with the sales team and Clinical SMEs on well-qualified opportunities and support all technical aspects of the sales cycle. Sales Engineers will lead remote and onsite technical presentations, actively listen, and advise all parties on the ideal product fit which will inform pricing proposals, contracts and potentially custom SOWs. They will be expected to think on their feet and deep dive into any product feature or technical requirement in a way their audience will understand. Working in partnership with their Technical Services teammates, Professional Services, Product, Platform, Hosting and Sales Enablement, they will be responsible for the delivery of sound and suitable solutions to new and current clients.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in Amwell products inclusive of all underlying 3rd party functionality in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
- Create expertise in Amwell market differentiators and devise assets/talking points that highlight their benefits to audience
- Identify the need for and collaborate with Sales and PS to build out prospect-oriented, audience-oriented presentations and assets
- Self-assign all Technical Resource requests in a timely manner
- Grow and continuously improve your understanding of the digital care market, the major players, up and coming trends, and our competitors to inform and evolve our talk track with prospects
- Develop strong internal relationships and communication channels across key teams that create or touch features and capabilities you depend on
- Work cross-functionally to develop POCs for custom solutions if necessary and approved
- Author prospect feedback on technical capabilities and limitations and key decision factors by market segment in an organized way and share that with all appropriate internal teams
- Lead technical training on specific features as requested for Sales Team
- Create and nurture trusted relationships with key players at the client to increase likelihood of incremental upsells
- Assist with the setup, management and take down of Amwell booth for strategic trade shows as requested by Marketing
- Author responses to technical sections of RFPs as requested
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Health Information Management/Technology, Informatics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare software sales, support, implementation, product design. Specific experience with digital health in the health plan, health system markets is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in technology, engineering, IT, or similar
- Deep understanding of sales process; Specifically selling complex integrated technology
- Experience with video technology, medical devices or healthcare interoperability and messaging standards is a plus.
- Strong relationship management experience particularly influencing others in a decision process. Comfortable operating with all levels of an organization including C-suite.
- Excels at multi-tasking and managing multiple high-priority engagements at once. Expert at organizing and prioritizing ones own work. Comfortable working against deadlines.
- Comfortable engaging or leading sessions without having all the information on hand. Enjoys thinking on their feet. Demonstrates agility and welcomes change.
- Self-starter, curious, accountable, enjoys a healthy level of autonomy, strong work ethic, able to succeed in a fast-paced, high intensity virtual first environment
- Excellent oral and written communications skills expert listening skills is a must. Advanced Powerpoint and presentation skills.
- Experience presenting technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner to all audience levels
- Expertise in formulating complex technical solutions based on client business discussions and decisions.
- Ability to research and solve complex problems or unusual challenges
- Potential work travel up to 30%

Salaried, Exempt Roles:
The typical base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $137,000. The actual salary offer will ultimately depend on multiple factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, relevant education, experience, complexity or specialization of talent, and other objective factors. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company performance and employee performance. Long-term incentive and short-term variable compensation may be offered as part of the compensation package dependent on the role. Some roles may be commission based, in which case the total compensation will be based on a commission and the above range may not be an accurate representation of total compensation.
